It is our great honour to announce that Mahayogi Siddha Baba was decorated with the highest spiritual honor – the title of Jagatguru (Guru of the Universe) on February 20, 2019 during the closing ceremony of Shree Ram Tarak Brahma Mahayagya.
Jagatguru is a term used for a Guru whose influence on the world has the power to transform it. The term – literally meaning “guru of the universe” – comes from the Sanskrit word, jagat, meaning “world,” “Earth,” “the cosmos” or “mankind”; and Guru, which usually refers to a bonafide spiritual master. By some accounts, there have only been five Jagatgurus in the last 2,500 years (Source: Yogapedia).
As per this occasion, Abhishekam was performed on Jagatguru Mahayogi Siddha Baba. Abhishekam (also called Abhishek) is an ancient ritual whereby water and other sacred substances are poured while chanting mantras. The purifying liquids used in abhishekam often include milk, yogurt, ghee, honey and sugar. These five foods represent the five elements of water, earth, fire, air and ether. Panchamrit, a mixture of all five, was also be poured over Jagatguru Mahayogi Siddhababa. By offering the substances representing five elements, devotees ask Jagatguru Siddhababa to purify those elements within themselves as well as the corresponding five senses: vision (water), taste (earth), hearing (fire), smell (ether) and touch (air) (Source: Yogapedia).
On behalf of all Mahayog sadhaks, we express our sincere gratitude for being able to be part of this auspicious occasion. We feel deeply blessed to have a such a renound Guru guiding us.
